When will the Track Season Start?
  • K-4th Grade Track Practice one day per week for 1 hour
    • Starts:  1st week of May 
    • Practice Tuesday's: JF Dulles & Springmyer
    • Practice Thursday's:  CO Harrison, Delshire & Oakdale
    • Practice Time:  5:30pm - 6:30pm
    • Location:  Oak Hills H.S. Track
    • Track Meets 
      • Dates/Time:  Friday, May 3rd, 5:30 PM, May 11th, May 18th, May 25th.  We may add two additional dates in June.   
      • Location:  Oak Hills High School Track
  • 5th-6th Grade Track Practice will be held twice a week.
    • Starts March 6th 
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-6:30 @ Oak Hills High School Track

 What are the fees used for?
The fees go toward league and registration fees as well as awards and equipment cost.  Included in your fee is a uniform t-shirt that your child will keep.  
 
What grades will be eligible to participate in OHYA Track?
Kindergarten through 6th-grade boys and girls will be eligible to join the OHYA Track Team.
Where will OHYA Track practices and meets be held?
All practices will take place at Oak Hills High School.

What events does OHYA Track have for the participants?
 
K-4th Grade
·         o   50 meter dash
·         o   75 meter dash
·         o  100 meter dash
·         o  200 meter dash
·         o  400 meter dash
·         o  Softball throw
          o  Long Jump
 
5th and 6th Grade
  • 100, 200, 400, 800, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, High Jump
How many events can my child participate in at each Track Meet?
Each child can run three track events and one field event.
 
Who are the coaches for the OHYA Track Team?
We need a minimum of two volunteer parent coaches (Head and Assistant Coach) per Elementary School and volunteers for track meet days.

How can I volunteer to be a Track Coach or help at the track meets?
We always need volunteer parents to help coach and organize the kids at track meets. 
There are two ways you can volunteer for a position.
       1.  If you are registering a child to participate in track there will be a section for you to volunteer for coaching or helping organize track meets.
        2.  Send an email to the Track Volunteer Coordinator indicating your interest in volunteering.
