Oak Hills Youth Athletics Lionfish will offer swimming lessons with a focus on how to be safe in and around the water. The program is designed for children 3 years old all the way up to age 11. Our lessons are supervised by lifeguard-certified instructors and most of our instructors have been competitive swimmers. Swimmers progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next.
Parent & Child Class is being offered to ages 6 months – 4 years to help introduce the water to the child and get them comfortable through the use of singing, blowing bubbles, etc. The structure is very non-threatening. Parents must enter the water with the children. A max of 10 parents/child will be in the water with 1 instructor.
SWIM LESSON DATES:
Swim Lessons will run for 6 consecutive weeks
Your swimmer will have one 30 minute lesson on the day and time you register for during each of these 6 weeks. There are NO MAKEUP classes if a class is missed.

Student to Teacher ratios will max out at 4 students to 1 instructor. Swim classes are structured to build upon each other. Swimmers need to complete their current level to move up.
*Please note: When registering multiple swimmers we can NOT guarantee swimmers will be in classes with friends and family.*
The six week session will cost $75. You will pay for the session at the end of the registration with a credit card or bank account information. A processing fee of 2.85% + $1.00 will be added to the fee charged today.
All classes will take place at the pool inside Oak Hills High School.
WHAT TO BRING:
All swimmers will need to bring a swimsuit and a towel. Swimmers may bring their own goggles. You know your young swimmers best, if they need a swim diaper or disposable swimwear, please do so.
LEVELS: Swimmers need to complete each level before moving up to the next level.

Float on back by themselves
Kicking on back – 5 yards
Ages: 5-6 years old
Push off wall to swim & turn over on back
Streamline with kicking
Freestyle with breathing – 10 yards
Kicking on back with arms – 10 yards
Freestyle stoke – 10 yards
Breaststroke arms and kick – 5 yards
Jumping in deep water and swim to instructor
Freestyle - with side breathing
Backstroke - kicking and arms
Breaststroke - kick and arms
Fly, Back, Breast, Free – drills (beginning to learn proper Fly)

At registration opening, the number of spots available for each day and time is listed below. This number is not updated as the slots are filled.
Based on your child's age, you will be presented with the appropriate/available Day of the week and Times from which to choose.
